- What is EtherPen?
- EtherPen is an AI script engine for short-drama writers and production studios, covering three workflows: generating full episode scripts from scratch, running five-dimension reviews with pinpoint revisions on existing scripts, and adapting Chinese scripts into localized shows for overseas markets. It does no video generation — it focuses on script-layer production decisions.
- How is EtherPen different from writing scripts directly with ChatGPT or Claude?
- General-purpose models have no structural layer for short drama. EtherPen explicitly models paywall beats, act structure, and hook cadence in a master sheet where acts and paywalls are orthogonal coordinates, benchmarked against 776 real hit beat maps and full-script evidence from 30 overseas shows. Review findings are forced to carry evidence and data, and AI edits land only after you accept them.
- Will AI replace writers?
- No — the direction is the opposite. AI automates what can be quantified (structure math, per-episode benchmarking, machine checks) while writers and chief editors focus on judgment. The platform's red line is that AI never silently edits: every change is a tracked revision that a human accepts or rejects.
- Can I use it now?
- The product is in invite-only private beta, with all three workflows live in production. Reach us via "Request beta access" to get set up; the free tier and self-serve subscriptions arrive with the commercial release.
- Is my script data safe?
- Your manuscripts are stored verbatim with a full audit trail and used only to serve you. The Enterprise tier adds data-isolation guarantees and private deployment options — customer data is never cross-fed. The platform's asset libraries are built solely from abstracted patterns of legally public sources and AI-original generation.
- Which overseas markets are supported?
- Currently the US, Brazil, and Indonesia, each with its own market profile and genre-fit matrix. Chinese short-drama apps earned $2.06B in overseas in-app revenue in 2025, and the 2026 overseas market is projected to nearly double to $6–9B.
